IPMAN: NNPC connives with depot owners to divert kerosene

Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) yesterday revealed how sharp practices and high-handed activities at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have been responsible for the perennial scarcity of kerosene in the country. IPMAN, at the resumed hearing of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee probing the subsidy regime, gave details of how the NNPC often connive with some independent depot owners, who act as third parties, to hoard the commodity first before reselling it at exorbitant prices. Alhaji Abdukadir Aminu, the National President of IPMAN, also urged the Federal Government to, henceforth, stop the NNPC from having sole responsibility of handling the distribution of Kerosene to ensure transparency.
