Council polls: Osun PDP threatens Aregbesola

As the Caretaker Committee tenure expires in the Local Government administration of Osun State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged Governor Rauf Aregbesola to, as a matter of urgency, put all the necessary machineries in motion to ensure that election into local government areas in the state is conducted before March this year.It would be recalled that the tenure of the state government appointed caretaker committees was renewed by the House of Assembly last year following the expiration of the first tenure as provided for in the Constitution.Speaking with journalists in Osogbo, the Chairman Congress and Transition Committee of the party in the state, Adejare Bello, faulted the action of the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) administration in the state for not putting in place elected council representatives since coming into power in 2010.
