Why Abubakar is not fit as IG, by Rep

A MEMBER of the House of Representatives, representing Jos East/Jos South Constituency Mr Bitrus Kaze has flayed the appointment of Mr. Muhammed Abubakar as the new Inspector General of Police, dubbing him as a religions fanatics who does not pretend about it.The lawmaker spoke as the Publicity Secretary of the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Raymond Lagan said President Goodluck Jonathan must have consulted widely before arriving at the decision to pick Abubakar even though he is from the Moslem extraction.Kaze who noted that religion is a volatile issue which made the country not to adopt a state religion, alleged that Abubakar went to the extent of showing his partisanship, especially during the 2001 Jos crisis which he supervised, protecting one worship place at the expense of the other.He urged the President to think about what he called Abubakar's antecedents, warning that appointing people like him to head the Police is like 'jumping from frying pan to fire'.Lagan said the President wanted to inject new blood into the already rotten system by appointing Abubakar, praising him that he must have made a wise choice by his appointment.
