Sylvia, Imoke, Idris, Wammako, Nyako Sacked

THE curtains finally fell on the tenure of fives state governors yesterday. It was the end of a lengthy legal battle that started from the High Courts, went through Appeal Courts and ended at the hallowed chambers of the Supreme Court.The apex court, in a unanimous verdict, sent packing the Governors of Bayelsa, Sokoto, Kogi, Cross Rivers and Adamawa States;Chief Timipre Sylva, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, Senator Liyel Imoke and Alhaji Muritala Nyako respectively. The court held that there was no provision in the 1999 Constitution for anybody to stay more than four years in one term.
