Ike revels in strike against Sharks

WARRI Wolves' strongman, Ike ThankGod, has reflected on his super strike that gave his side a point in their 1-1 draw with Sharks in a Nigeria Premier League (NPL) feisty game decided at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt at the weekend.Ike's 12th minute strike threatened to give Wolves maximum points against the home side until ThankGod Amaefule equalised from the spot for the Blue Angels on 56 minutes. Ike told SuperSport.com: 'To be honest, I did not know that I will score because my job is to defend. But I also like scoring goals, which explains why I like moving upfront. It was a great goal and I am very happy.'The subject of heated transfer speculation before the commencement of the 2011/2012 NPL season, Ike was desperately wanted by defending champion, Dolphin, and a host of other top clubs but the defender says he is now setting sights on achieving success with his current club.'People said a lot of things (about me leaving the club) and most of the things they said were not true,' the defender noted. 'The most important thing is that I am still here (at Wolves) and happy. I will always give my best for Wolves.
