Rescind Falode's appointment 'Women's league congress tells Maigari

Published by Tribune on Tue, 31 Jan 2012

THE congress of the Nigerian Women Football League requested the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Aminu Maigari to immediately rescind the appointment of Aisha Falode as the general coordinator of all women national teams. The congress, rising from its meeting at the Development Support Centre, Ibadan said the appointment of Falode demeans and encroaches on the office of the duly elected chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League. It also requested the NFF President to immediately rescind the appointment of Henreitta Ukaigwe as the coordinator of the Super Falcons because her appointment demeans the general contributions and efforts of the Chairmen and Team Managers of the Nigeria Women Football League Clubs headed by the league Board chairman, Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinna, who spent their hard earned funds funding women football in Nigeria. The congress also appealed to the NFF president to henceforth recognise the contributions and efforts of the Women's Club Chairmen and Team Managers by appointing them as coordinators of the national teams and further decried the mode of inviting players of the women national teams without the vital recourse and advice of the club managements who produce these players. The congress also appeal to the NFF President to henceforth include the Women League Club Chairmen and Team Managers in attending matches involving women national teams because the women league club administrators are the ones training the players that play and represent the country in the national teams.
