Published by Tribune on Tue, 31 Jan 2012

The Baale of Ajoda New Town, Oba-Oke road, Osogbo in Osun State, Sheik Yussuf Oluwafunminiyi Oluwafemi, has called on Nigerian leaders, irrespective of their religious affiliations, to allow lessons of their visits to the Holy lands of Saudi Arabia and Israel, to reflect in their administration of affairs of the country. The community leader who made the call while having an interview with Community News recently, urged Nigerians to be optimistic about the country and have a change of attitude towards making Nigeria a better place for all to live in.Sheik Oluwafemi stressed the problem with Nigeria was not the nation's constitution but rather those implementing it and called for a change of heart in that regard. He said it was disheartening that an average Nigerian worker was earning peanut at the end of the month, while the political office holders were smiling home with jumbo salaries and allowances and therefore, called for a review of the development which he described as unjust to the workers. The Ajoda New Town leader said further, 'Look at the recent removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government which has affected all the essential commodities to be used by the people.People are suffering, government must urgently look for a palliative measure to reduce the burden of the innocent electorate that voted for these leaders.
