Amosun, Imoke commiserate with acting IG

THE Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has mourned the death of wife of Acting Inspector General of Police, Hajia Mariam Abubakar.In a statement signed by Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication to Governor Amosun, Mrs Funmi Wakama, it described the death of Hajia Abubakar "as shocking and coming at a time when IGP Abubakar would need her support and invaluable advice."He urged the Acting IGP to take solace in the fact that his wife led an exemplary life.Senator Amosun prayed for the repose of her soul and for God to grant her entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.The governorship standard-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke, has also commiserated with the Acting Inspector-General of Police, on the death of his wife, Hajia Abukabar.In a statement signed by Senator Imoke's, he said the news of Hajia Abubakar's death was a shocking, coming barely one week after the Acting Inspector-General Police's elevation to the highest office in the Nigeria Police Force.'If there is any time to die, it should not have been now,' the statement read, appealing to the husband of the deceased to take consolation in the fact that Allah giveth and Allah taketh.The seasoned politician said the death of a dear one whom through life trials had been a good companion could hardly be assuage but that the acting IGP should take confidence in the fact that God who called her home would strengthen him to live up to his responsibility to his Father land.
