Ilorin: Residents of Taiwo road decry constant power outage

An appeal from residents of Taiwo Road Area in Ilorin, Kwara State, has gone to the management of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to ameliorate power supply situation in the area.Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the people lamented that the area had suffered neglect at the hands of the PHCN for several weeks as far as the supply of electricity was concerned.The spokesperson of the people, Mr. Akinyele Joseph, said, "for more than three weeks now, we have not enjoyed light for 15 minutes in 24 hours and this has seriously affected our businesses and way of life."We are fully aware of how regular other areas in Ilorin metropolis do enjoy regular supply of power. and every member of the area is not happy with that situation,' he lamented.He particularly appealed to the authorities of the PHCN in the state to ensure equity, justice and fair play in the supply of electricity to the citizenry.The spokesperson also said that they were dissatisfied over what he described as uneven distribution of power in Ilorin metropolis, adding that the persistent epileptic supply of power was threatening socio-economic development of the residents.Joseph, however, appealed to the Kwara State government to collaborate with the PHCN with a view to improving the service of the PHCN in the area.
