Lagos NURTW boosts public enlightenment

In its bid to boost its image, the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has procured a Toyota Hummer bus to be used by the monitoring and Public Enlightenment of Public Education Department of the council.Speaking on the development, the Caretaker committee Chairman, Comrade Akin James, stated that the caretaker committee put in place by the National Headquarters of the union decided to embark on the project, bearing in mind the need to educate its numerous members on what was expected of them.Comrade James stated that the Hummer Bus has been adequately equipped to do the job of public enlightenment.'The bus is equipped with public address system and it will be on the road always for the assignment. The idea is to always keep our members awake while on the wheels. While on the road, if we notice any wrong doings, we can call the attention of the affected driver to it to make amend,' he said.Comrade Akin James commended the members for their support for the Caretaker Committee. 'We are very grateful for the National leadership of our Union for making it possible for us to work and at the same time we thank members of the council for the project', he said.According to him, 'we expect that the incoming administration would tow our line with progressive result when they come on board.
