AFTER the conclusion of the districts finals of the Season Three of Lagos Guaranty Trust Bank Principal's Cup, the 24 successful teams have been placed in four groups for the state finals of the competition.At the draws held yesterday, the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Olayinka Oladunjoye, charged the teams to eschew violence and exhibit sportsmanship during the finals, which will hold in eight centres across the state.'We will always remain grateful to GTB for sustaining the championship in the last three years and we want to assure them that we will make good use of the opportunity by ensuring that our students become stars for the country,' she said.She therefore charged the teams to play by the rules, while reaffirming the need for schools to allow students engage in one sporting activity or the other alongside their academics. For the General Manager, GTB Communication and External Affairs, Lola Odedina, the company would continue to support youth development through sports.She added that various programmes have been put in place to support the students in their quest to be successful in life. 12 boys and 12 girls teams will compete in the state finals scheduled to kick off next week across the sate.The teams are drawn in four groups with the top team from each group moving to the semis.
