Godly Fear (II)Memory Verse: Ps: 103:13Bible Passage: Ps 103:1-18INTRODUCTION: Last week, we examined the nature, source, types and purpose of fear.Today, we will look at how the fear of the Lord should affect our conduct about divine things and fellow human beings, made in the image of God. (Gen.1:26-27) We will also mention rewards of the reverential, godly and awesome fear of God.Outlines:Things of God must be reverenced:Due respect and reverence must be given to people, places and objects of God. (Ps.105:9; Exodus 3:5; 1Sam. 15:26-28; Matt. 10:40; Exodus: 33:8; Lev. 19:30)When we are dealing with a 'man of God', we should not forget that He is a man. On the other hand, we ignore the presence of the Holy Spirit in his life at our peril. Two older siblings of Moses criticised him. God summoned all three of them. God asked: 'Are you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses'' Immediately, Moses' elder sister, Miriam became leprous and as white as snow (Num. 12:1-10). Always esteem men of God (1Thess 5:13). Respect and reverence all things pertaining to God.Rewards of fearing God:Some of the great rewards of fearing God and things connected with Him include:Divine honour (Prov.3:6-10; 1Sam 2:30'They that honour me I will honour); divine direction (Ps 25:12); divine compassion and mercy.( Ps 103:13); divine acceptance. (Acts 10:34-35)Conclusion:Give God, His people and His things the highest regards at all times. The whole duty of man is to fear, honour and serve God and do His will at all time.God bless you
