No More Business As Usual, Says Wada

Pursues Transformation AgendaGOVERNOR Idris Wada of Kogi State, at the weekend, restated his commitment to development of the state, promising he would pay little attention to politics.The governor spoke during the presentation of an interim report by a committee set up to develop a transformation agenda for the state.He noted that the motive behind the committee is to send signals that it would not be business as usual in the state.The governor, who disclosed that, already, the move has generated panic among the political class, however added that his intention is not to slight any person or send politicians to early retirement but demonstrate overriding commitment to service above politics.Wada, who described the event as his most important assignment since assumption of office, stressed that the task before the committee is to shape the future of the state by developing transformation policies for the administration. .Members of the committee are:former Vice-Chancellor, Kogi State University, Prof. Francis Idachaba, (Chairman); former Managing Director, Power Holding Company of Nigeria, Engr. Joseph Makoju (Vice Chairman); Chairman, WalterSmith Petroman Oil, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Kutepa; former Minister of Health, Prof. Eyitayo Lambo; Lagos-based Management Consultant, Chief Funsho Owoyemi; Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Newswatch Communications Ltd, Alhaji Yakubu Mohammed; Prof. Ihimodu; Professor of Economics, Dr Mike Akwanachi; Professor Dominic Akpa; Alhaji Ladi Ibrahim;Mrs. Folashade Shinkaye; Mr. Steven Mayaki and Mr. Emmanuel Ocholi, among others.Wadasaid the committee comprises people with antecedents to produce a transformation policy that will help in accomplishing the vision of his administration.
