Maigari praises Amaechi ...As Obuh picks final team Friday

PRESIDENT of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari on Tuesday commended Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, of Rivers State for his kind gesture in hosting the Flying Eagles since the team returned to the country on March 14, from a training tour abroad.Governor Amaechi deserves immense praise for what he has done, and what he continues to do for Nigerian football. We adore him, said Maigari.It will be recalled that Governor Amaechi was the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force that complemented the work of the NFF in steering the Super Eagles to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals.Meanwhile, Flying Eagles Head Coach, Sam John Obuh will pick his final list of 21 players for the 17th African Youth Championship in South Africa on Friday.My team list will be ready on Friday, and as you know, we will be departing for South Africa early next week, Obuh said from the teams camp in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.The Nigerian team has won the African crown five times and lost in the final of the FIFA U-20 World Cup on two occasions.Nigeria faces reigning world champions, Ghana, Cameroon and The Gambia in Group B, with hosts South Africa, Mali, Egypt and Lesotho in Group A. The four semi finalists will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia later in the year.
