Ondo ACN, LP, PDP raise alarm over attempt to unleash violence

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State have differently raised the alarm over attempt to unleash violence in major parts of the state ahead of the rescheduled National Assembly election.Besides, the ACN also said it had uncovered a plot to abduct its state chairman, Mrs Jumoke Anifowose, ahead of the general election beginning on Saturday.The party, which alleged that one of its members in Ose Local Government Area of the state, Isaac Odilu, was killed by suspected thugs during the botched election last Saturday, said the planned abduction of Anifowose leaked through a text message sent to her phone.Addressing newsmen in Akure, on Tuesday, Anifowose, who is a daughter of the former governor of old Ondo State, Chief Adekunle Ajasin, said members of the party were harassed and intimidated during the cancelled National Assembly election.She accused the LP and the PDP of causing crisis in many parts of the state like Ese-Odo, Odigbo, Uteh and Owo and unleashing mayhem on its members.But the state chairman of LP, Dr Olaiya Oni, has asked the Inspector-General of Police, through the new Commissioner of Police in the state to curtail the alleged display of violence of the PDP before Saturdays rescheduled National Assembly election.
