Ogun, Chinese firm plan new town development

THE Ogun State government has begun negotiation with a Korean/Chinese New Town Development towards providing affordable and adequate shelter for its residents.The state Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Daniel Adejobi, made the disclosure during an assessment visit to the construction sites at Ibara Renewal Estate in Abeokuta and the proposed Isorosi Housing Estate in Ota.He urged genuine private investors to join hands with the government in actualising its promise investment in the business of providing shelter. He said the housing provision is a veritable venture, which will contribute to economic development, but also create wealth for investors, create jobs and opportunities for other allied businesses like interior design and real estate agents.Mr. Adejobi assured of government's readiness to always support a healthy economic growth and willingness to release lands to genuine investors.He hinted that present occupiers of the Ibara staff quarters would be relocated as soon as more housing estates are constructed to give way for the erection of modern structures to suit the Ibara Renewal Scheme.Also speaking during the visit, Mr. Badejo Ogunsanya, a company executive and one of the investors at the Ibara Renewal Estate, lauded the government for its support, promising that the project, which his company is handling, would be ready soon.
