Falcons storm Namibia with depleted team

SIX top players will be not be on duty for Nigeria when the Super Falcons travel to Namibia for the second leg of their Olympic qualifier.Perpetua Nkwocha, Faith Ikidi, Helen Ukaonu, Ulunma Jerome, Emueje Ogbiagbevha, Ugochi Oparanozie, Onome Ebi and Rita Chikwelu who all play in Sweden are all being held back by their various clubs.The clubs say as it is not a FIFA window, they cannot release the players, NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire confirmed to KickOffNigeria.com.The players are also likely to miss the first leg of the All Africa Games qualifier at home to the winner of the preliminary round tie between Ghana and Liberia, but Olajire says the NFF is working to ensure that that is not the case.We hope to get in touch with their clubs to make sure the players are available to play against Ghana or Liberia, he said. But if they cant, we still have players who are good enough to get good results in both games.After all, the coach has been in camp for months with the local players, and they should be good enough to win.
