Weightlifting Federation targets Olympic success

SECRETARY-GENERAL of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Uche Onwume has set her sights on London 2012 Olympic Games, stating that the qualifying event comes up in France after the All Africa Games.Speaking with brilafm.net, Onwume declared that the lifters will do their best not to let the country down, adding that a gold medal should be expected from the sport in London next year.We have not gone for the qualifying event of the London 2012 Olympics. It comes up after the All Africa Games in France and I sincerely hope and pray that our lifters will not disappoint and let anyone down during the Olympics. They will surely do their best and make the country proud. I can tell you that all things being equal, we will get a gold medal at the Olympics, she said.
