Three injured after New York train, truck collide: reports

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Three people were injured early on Tuesday after a freight train and a tractor-trailer collided and caught fire near a cereal and flour plant in upstate New York, according to media reports.One person from the train and another from the truck were transported for medical care with burns to their bodies, the Buffalo News reported. A firefighter was also being treated for smoke inhalation, ABC News-affiliate WKBW reported.Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, in a post on Twitter, confirmed the collision outside of a General Mills factory but gave no details on any injuries.The train, carrying flour, collided with the truck near an industrial area in Buffalo, the Buffalo News said.Local department officials and police were not immediately available for comment.(Reporting by Laila Kearney; Editing by Susan Heavey)Join the conversation about this story
