Senate approves Lola Abiola for NDIC, five RECs

THE Senate yesterday approved the nomination of Mrs. Omolola Abiola-Edewor as the Executive Director (Corporate Services) of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).Also, the upper chamber approved the presidential nomination of five Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).While considering the two reports by the committee of the whole Senate, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over the session, urged the new RECs to join forces with their colleagues in the commission to perfect the electoral system.
