In Kogi, pain of 17,000 workers going 18 months without pay

It was 5pm on Sunday, October 17 and Malam Isa Abdulsalam Zubair, 42, a level 6 staff of Kogi State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, had not eaten lunch when he spoke with Weekly Trust about his suffering as one of the 17,000 civil servants who have not been paid since March, 2009 even though he had scaled the screening exercise conducted by the state government through a private firm.
