Here's footage of the incident, courtesy of British Eurosport:Several riders, including stage favourites Bauke Mollema and Simon Gerrans, abandoned the race on the spot, while Cancellara got back on his bike and managed to reach the finish line at the top of the Mur de Huy. He lost over 10 minutes in the standings, however, and was clearly in pain.Team manager Luca Guercilena told Sky Sportsthe veteran felt some pain in his back, a bad sign after breaking his back earlier this season, and he will take a trip to the hospital:There was obviously some back pain. Now the idea is to go to the hospital and have a scan to see whats going on, because the local pain is actually exactly where he had the broken vertebrae.Hopefully nothing is broken and its just hard hit, but we need to go to the hospital and verify that.Cancellara seems unlikely to start Stage 4 on Tuesday, as the peloton crosses into France for the first time. Several stretches of cobblestones will line the route, a nightmare surface to ride on with back pain.
