Camilo Eifler to Washington: Huskies Land 4-Star OLB Prospect

Linebacker Camilo Eifler is one of the fastest risers in the Class of 2016, and he parlayed that into a commitment to the Washington Huskies.Adam Jude of the Seattle Times confirmed Eifler's decision.Eifler is a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports, and he ranks as the No. 13 outside linebacker and No. 173 overall recruit in his class.The Oakland, California, native is somewhat on the smallish side at just 215 pounds, but his speed, supreme athleticism and ability to grow into his nearly 6'2" frame make him a highly intriguing prospect.That was on full display during The Opening's Nike SPARQ test in May, which was essentially an opportunity for West Coast prospects to prove their worth in combine-style drills.As seen in this tweet courtesy of StudentSports.com's Brian Stumpf, Eifler put up some impressive numbers:The stats didn't lie, as Edward Lewis of Rivals.com believed Eifler was one of the top performers during the event.After schools were able to see what he brings to the table physically, his profile improved significantly, and the recruiting process seemed to accelerate as well.By the end of May, Eifler narrowed his potential college choices down to six, with four of them being Pac-12 schools, per his Twitter account:Eifler had a difficult decision on his hands since his list contained a fairly diverse set of schools in terms of what they like to do defensively, but he was ultimately able to narrow it down to one lucky university.The Bishop O'Dowd High School product will now prepare himself for life as a collegiate football player, which comes easily for some but requires a major transition for most.Since Eifler now knows which school he'll be attending, he can focus his energy on getting himself ready for the next level both physically and mentally.He'll almost certainly need to bulk up a bit in order to become a truly great linebacker, but that shouldn't be a significant issue.Eifler already has a great skill set in terms of his agility, pursuit and overall instincts, so the odds are seemingly in favor of him becoming an impact player with the Huskies sooner rather than later.Follow @MikeChiari on Twitter.
