WWE Superstar of the Week for July 18

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 18 Jul 2015

The Superstars and Divas of WWE always manage to produce some entertaining moments every week, but the last seven days had a few more than usual. With the build for Battleground taking up most of the valuable TV time, it came as a big surprise when some of the things that stuck out the most had nothing to do with the pay-per-view.Before we get to the main attraction, let's take a look at some of the people who deserve recognition.Honorable Mentions: Cesaro and RusevCesaro has been killing it over the past few weeks. He has produced several incredible matches and managed to give his fans hope that he might actually get the push he deserves in the near future. However, he can't take all the credit. His opponents are just as important to the quality of his bouts, and this week he was paired with another Superstar who can do things nobody thought he was capable of.Rusev and Cesaro worked two matches this week. The first was a triple threat on Raw with Kevin Owens and the second was a singles match on SmackDown. The bout from Raw was one of the most entertaining three-way dances we have seen in a long time. All three men worked hard to make it memorable, but when Owens left halfway through, Cesaro and Rusev stepped things up a notch to keep the momentum going. The singles match on SmackDown might not have been as good, but it was a great encounter in its own right. It definitely stole the show and proved that Monday's performance was not a fluke.WWE would be wise to use the obvious chemistry between Rusev and Cesaro to build a feud in the near future. Both of them have skills most wrestlers could only dream of, and together they have proven to be a highly enjoyable pairing.Superstar(s) of the Week for July 18: Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky LynchIf you are a fan of women's wrestling, then you were likely marking out like a child at what happened on Raw. It wasn't just a great moment for women in the company, but a great moment for the company as a whole. The Bella Army has been dominating the Divas division for the better part of a year, and until now, Paige was the only person trying to stop them. Then something special happened. Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and brought out three women who have been helping the NXT women's division outshine the Divas on the main roster for a long time.Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch debuted all at once, and in the process they gave a glimmer of hope that we may start to see real change in how women in WWE are portrayed.Charlotte and Lynch sided with Paige, while Banks was put with Tamina and Naomi. With Alicia Fox already helping Nikki and Brie Bella, this created three distinct trios. The energy of the crowd was off the charts, and if just proves that when effort is put into the Divas division, people will get excited. If you want proof, think about the last time you heard the fans chanting "This is awesome" for a non-wrestling Divas segment. Oh yeah, it's never happened before. If you aren't familiar with Banks, Lynch and Charlotte, you definitely need to go on the WWE Network and watch some of their matches. They have stolen the show on more than one occasion, and that is not easy when you have guys like Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor wrestling on the same card. These three women are what the Divas division needs right now. Their skills are on par with the best female wrestlers that have ever passed through the company, and they still haven't reached their full potential. With proper booking and enough time in front of the camera, these women can help bring about the kind of change in the Divas division we never thought possible. It just takes time. What do you think' Were Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch the Superstars of the Week' Thanks for reading, andfollow meonTwitter@BR_Doctor.
