Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Oscar and Mohamed Salah Exit Rumours

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 18 Jul 2015

Chelsea midfielder Oscar has revealed that in spite of the rumourshe wont be departing Stamford Bridge this summer and has declared his love for the club. One of the heralded three amigos in the Blues three-fold attacking line, the 23-year-old has been linked with a switch to Serie A champions Juventus for the majority of the summer. However, he told Simon Johnson of the London Evening Standard that he plans to remain a Chelsea player for the foreseeable future:I know there has been a lot of talk about Juventus, but I am very, very happy at Chelsea. Last year I signed a new contract and I want to stay a long time at Chelsea. I have never been unsettled by what was being said. That much is good news for Blues fans, then, although some werent too keen on the Brazilian staying in west London.Theres no doubting Oscars qualityhe truly is a wonderful player on his dayits just his level of consistency that needs to improve.Bleacher Reports Garry Hayes was one of those who slammed the midfielders consistency, saying: The Brazilian teases us with his brilliance early in the campaign; he dangles the carrot that tempts us to layer him with superlatives. Expectation levels increase, he almost reaches a crescendo, and just as we expect him finally to deliver, away he goes.Still, this season could be different for Oscar, as for the first time since touching down at Stamford Bridge in 2012 hell be partaking in pre-season.Not that playing a few luxury friendlies is the be-all and end-all in a campaign, but laying a strong foundation is very important. Oscar echoed that sentiment to Johnson, as he said that hell be ready for the season ahead:I missed the end of last season but now I am over the injury and back to fullfitness. I have been able to make the start of pre-season and am here to prepare for the season. I haven't been able to do have a pre-season for the past five years because I have had to play so many games in the summer, so this pre-season for me is very important. Most players don't like to get injured, but it did force me to have a rest. This is important and now I have no injury and will be fresh for the season.Being fresh is one thing, but playing to a world-class potential is another. Its undoubtedly good news that Oscar is staying put at Stamford Bridge, yet its up to the man himself to make it truly great news with a stellar 2015/16.Mohamed SalahOne man whos unlikely to enjoy a good season in the famous blue shirt, however, is Mohamed Salah, who could well be off to pastures new in the coming months.Salah spent the second half of the 2014/15 season on loan with Fiorentina and impressed with a string of good performances, but its not believed to be enough to get him into Jose Mourinhos long-term plans.Instead, it seems that a switch to Roma could be in the pipeline, with a deal reportedly agreed between player and clubper journalist Omid Zamani:However, theres a new suitor a lot closer to home, as Calcio Mercato Web revealed that Liverpool are readying a bid for the 23-year-old, via James Whaling of the Daily Mirror.Whaling writes that Salah would be the Reds replacement for Raheem Sterling, who has departed Anfield for Manchester City.Liverpool will likely match the bid of Roma, but Mourinho will be reluctant to sell Salah to a Premier League rival. The player himself may well have his mind made up on a move to Italy, and that much could ruin Liverpools attempts, too.Either way, Chelsea do need a little bit of a clear-out ahead of the new Premier League season to make way for some exciting new talent. The likes of Salah, Juan Cuadrado and Filipe Luis havent delivered the goods at the Bridge and will need a drastic improvement if theyre even to be given the chance to prove their worth. The Blues need a squad worthy of retaining the Premier League crown, and although Oscar staying put will be good news for the club, few fans will be either shocked or saddened by Salahs departure, wherever that may be
