Gold Cup 2015: TV Schedule and Live Stream for Saturday Quarter-Finals Fixtures

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 18 Jul 2015

Only eight teams remain in the hunt for the 2015 Gold Cup, and Saturday sees the quarter-finals kick off with the United States, Jamaica, Cuba and Haiti all in action.Although the competition certainly has its title favourites, it speaks volumes of the tight nature of the contest that no team advances to the knockout stage with a perfect winning record.Even the USA couldn't maintain their 100 percent start to proceedings after a 1-1 draw against Panama in their final group-stage clash, a slip they'll hope to correct against Haiti on Saturday.Read on for a look ahead to this weekend's opening quarter-final matchups, along with a preview of Saturday's meetings and all the necessary viewing information.United States vs. CubaCuba face a difficult task in overcoming the struggles within their own camp to beat one of the tournament favourites on Saturday, with playing numbers the biggest concern at hand.Coach Raul Gonzalez was quoted as saying on Friday, per the Associated Press, that only 19 of his 23-man squad would be available for the quarter-final clash, although he didn't go into detail regarding which players those were:"I think it's enough to play the game and to play the tournament."Player defections have been an overriding issue for Cuba during their North American trip, with the AP report outlining thatKeiler Garcia,Arael Arguellez, Ariel Martinez,Dario Suarez and Aricheel Hernandez were all unaccounted for. It's hardly ideal circumstances for Gonzalez heading into what will be Cuba's biggest game of the tournament, but United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann isn't taking anything for granted, hinting at the Caribbean team's unpredictability:A 1-1 draw against Panama was the starkest evidence yet that this United States lineup looks vulnerable at this year's Gold Cup, and is not the same team that beat Germany just last month.A last-gasp 1-0 victory over Guatemala gave Cuba not only their first win of the Gold Cup, but their first goal also. That being said, the worst defensive outfit in the tournament face a battle against the odds in advancing past the Stars and Stripes, having already leaked eight goals in their three outings.Haiti vs. JamaicaA Caribbean clash for the history books has set Haiti and Jamaica on course for a collision this Saturday, with the former hoping to surpass their all-time best Gold Cup finish by making it to the semi-finals.Marc Collat's side made it to the quarters in 2002 and 2009 but have never made it to the last four, a possibility ESPN FC's Tom Marshall sees as unlikely after the coach shortened his options this weekend:Goal.com's Ives Galarcep rightly points out the resurgent rise of the Caribbean nations at this year's Gold Cup, especially after Trinidad and Tobago struck late to secure a 4-4 draw against Mexico on Wednesday:Unfortunately for the region, Haiti and Jamaica's quarter-final decider will see one representative exit the tournament in what promises to be a close encounter after each side conceded just two goals in the group phase.Haiti in particular have surprised this year and did well to hold the United States to a slim 1-0 defeat in Group A, but the stakes are much higher in Saturday's all-or-nothing matchup.
