Buhari determined to build a new Nigeria- Onu

Published by Daily Trust on Sun, 19 Jul 2015

One of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National leaders, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu said that president Muhammadu Buhari is working towards building a new' and prosperous Nigeria. He stated this in Abuja on Saturday when he received a delegation of National Association of Northern Nigeria Students who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence."The presidency of Buhari is determined to build a modern nation for us, a nation that all of us as Nigerians would be proud of and other people outside Nigeria and other nations would be proud of and respect us. But we have to work for it."A new nation is going to emerge. You don't have to worry about what you see today even though there are so many problems that have been with us for a very long time but this administration is determined in line with promises made to Nigerians during the campaigns to ensure that a modern nation, more united and peaceful is actualised,"he said.Onu said when that happens the future of the future generations would be guaranteed."You should find ways to ensure that this administration succeeds. As students you have to work very hard and generate the ideas that would help to solve the problems in the society."He added that Nigerian Universities must be centres of learning so that they generate ideas that would galvanise growth in the country. He therefore called on the students to ensure that the nation becomes surely the giant of Africa that it is supposed to be."We want Nigeria to be a new nation where differences will not pose any problems for us as a nation but rather would help us to be a stronger nation. Cement, sand and water, if you take any of them, they look so fragile but if you mix the three together, they would be so strong that it can carry any weight. That is what we want to happen in Nigeria. We want our differences to be basis of our strength, it shouldnt be a basis of our weakness," Onu said.
