Open Championship 2015: Live Stream Schedule, Tee Times and Sunday Weather Info

Published by Bleacher Report on Sun, 19 Jul 2015

The 2015 British Open is not being dominated by Jordan Spieth, Louis Oosthuizen or even leader Dustin Johnson.Instead, the main story has been the overpowering weather at St. Andrews. While golfers should be preparing for the championship round on Sunday, they are merely getting ready for the moving-day round. Whipping winds and poor weather wiped out the third round on Saturday, and the only thing that was accomplished was the rain-delayed second round finally being completed. The British Open will not be decided until Monday because of the weather delays; this is the first time in 27 years that the hallowed tournament will have a Monday finish. Those who were unable to finish the second round on Friday came out for an early start on Saturday morning, but it appeared to be a dubious proposition because the winds were so heavy. The wind's impact was most obvious on the greens, where stationary balls moved significantly.Louis Oosthuizen's putt on the 13th hole got to three feet from the cup when it appeared to come to rest. However, after it had stopped completely, the heavy winds picked up and Oosthuizen's ball rolled five feet further away before he marked it, as Cameron West observed:Louis Oosthuizen's Ball was Blown Across the Green as High Winds Delay The Open Championship: This embed is in... http://t.co/unYwCRWzhG Cameron West (@Sports42Fanatic) July 18, 2015After a long delay, those who were attempting to finish the second round finally got their opportunity. Johnson birdied the 18th hole, and that allowed him to regain sole possession of the lead at the 36-hole mark with a score of 10 under par.Danny Willett, who completed his second round on Friday, is a stroke behind Johnson at nine under. Paul Lawrie is in third place by himself at eight under, while Marc Warren, Zach Johnson, Robert Streb, Adam Scott and Oosthuizen are in the group at seven under par.Spieth, the Masters and U.S. Open champion, is five strokes behind the leader. Spieth, normally one of the premier putters on the PGA Tour, had five three-putt greens in the second round."I just left myself with 80-foot putts over ridges and into the 30-MPH wind," he told ESPN interviewer Tom Rinaldi. "It's so hard to judge. My proximity to the hole needs to be better."It's going to be tough for Spieth to win his third major of the year. Coming from five strokes behind at the midway point of the British Open has only been accomplished twice, as Justin Ray noted:Jordan Spieth is 5 back. Only 2 players have won an Open at St Andrews when 5+ back thru 36 holes - and they were in 1895 & 1933. Justin Ray (@JustinRayGC) July 18, 2015On the other hand, Johnson has converted a 36-hole lead into victories in three of five opportunities.ESPN will televise the third round at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday, while the network is set to telecast Monday's final round at 6 a.m. ET.Live Stream:WatchESPNThe weather forecast for Sunday is much better. It appears that the rain will hold off until about 4 p.m. ET Monday, so there appears to be a reasonable opportunity to get the final rounds in without further issues. BBC Weather and David Robertson detailed the forecast:Wind gusts at #TheOpen so far today, but the forecast shows them ease from here on... @BBCSport MattT pic.twitter.com/U0dpqv9EId BBC Weather (@bbcweather) July 18, 2015BBC Weather forecast for St Andrews.
