WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for July 22

Published by Bleacher Report on Wed, 22 Jul 2015

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT,where we take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode. We are in the final stretch before the next NXT TakeOver special. This week will be the first from the block of episodes that were taped at Full Sail University on July 16.More importantly, this will be the first episode that was taped following the Beast in the East special that took place in Japan a few weeks ago, which means Finn Balor will finally appear as NXT champion.Let's take a look at what's on tap for this week's show. The WomenAfter months training with Brian Kendrick, Eva Marie will make her return to the ring against KC Cassidy. This will be a big test for the redheaded bombshell as she sets out to prove she is more than just another pretty face.WWE thrust Eva Marie into the spotlight as part of the cast of Total Divas, and wrestling fans immediately turned on her due to her lack of experience. Her ability inside the ring was horrendous, but we cannot blame her for taking an amazing opportunity that was presented to her. She should be commended for taking time away to learn from a veteran like Kendrick, and hopefully all her training has paid off.Cassidy is still new to the scene, but she has a few matches under her belt, so the WWE Universe knows who she is. She wrestled in the indy scene for six years before being signed by WWE, so she knows how to put together a match. With Eva Marie being a focal point on Total Divas, it's unlikely WWE would book her to lose her first match in several months, so this is more about how well she performs than who gets the win.The second match featuring the women of NXT will feature Emma going up against everyone's favorite hugger, Bayley. These two women have had a small feud going for several weeks. They have traded wins and losses while biding their time until a No. 1 contender for the Women's Championship can be decided. This will almost certainly be the better of the two women's matches because both Emma and Bayley have proved on many occasions that they are quite talented.Since Sasha Banks has started appearing on the main roster, it's only a matter of time until she drops the title and stops appearing on NXT. Whoever wins the bout between Emma and Bayley will likely be a top contender to battle The Boss for the Women's Championship. The Tag TeamsThe only tag match scheduled to take place will see Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton battle The Vaudevillains.Aiden English and Simon Gotch are one of the few established teams left in NXT. Their gimmick is unique and their skills set them apart from much of the roster.Dawkins and Fulton haven't been teaming together that long, but they have shown a lot of promise in that time. The only thing they need to do is find their identity as a team.Whoever wins this match will put themselves in the running for a future tag title shot simply because there isn't a lot of competition in the division at the moment, so it's important for both teams to put their best foot forward. The MenTwo singles matches are on the card this week, but neither of them will have a big impact on future storylines. The first will have Baron Corbin take on yet another jobber. We thought he had moved past facing nobodies once he started feuding with Rhyno, but it looks like he is going back to picking up quick wins.Corbin has a lot of potential, but he is never going to be allowed to realize it if he doesn't get to face credible opponents. The second singles bout will likely be another squash. Samoa Joe is set to face Mike Rallis in what is sure to be a one-sided fight. The real meat and potatoes in this episode for the men's division will be the contract signing between Finn Balor and Kevin Owens.Anyone who has watched WWE for more than a year knows that contract signings always end in a brawl, so we will almost certainly see some fisticuffs. The matches scheduled for the men and tag teams don't look too exciting, so it's up to the women to make this a show that is worth watching. What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT'Match information taken from the spoiler report at WrestleZone.com.Thanks for reading, andfollow meonTwitter@BR_Doctor.
