Okada rider shot dead in Kano

There was pandemonium yesterday morning at the popular Jubilee Square Roundabout in Kano when a soldier on stop-and-search duty shot a commercial motorcycle operator dead.According to an eyewitness account, the soldieraimed and killed the commercial motorcycle operator, who was alone at the time of the incident, following his refusal to stop for a routine search at the check point.It was gathered that his refusal to stop, like the other Achaba (okada) operators at the check point informed the decision of the soldier to shoot the deceased twice on his stomach and forehead.
