Fashola charges teams MTN/Lagos Street Soccer

ANY of the 450 teams hoping to lift the trophy of this years MTN/Lagos Street Soccer  Championship which began on Sunday at the Campos Square Mini Stadium, Lagos must work extra hard to achieve that feat.Governor Babatunde Raji  Fashola made this observation at the colourful opening ceremony of the championship.Im impressed with the number of teams that have registered in this tournament. I wish all of them the best of luck I foresee a very competitive tournament, but the team that puts in extra effort stands the chance of emerging champions.I also want to commend MTN for supporting this programme which has gone a long way in taking our youths off the streets and empowering them to achieve greatness in their football career, he said.Also speaking, MTN Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, Bola Akingbade, charged the participating teams to put in their best. Akingbade also urged youths in the state to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the championship to aspire to the highest level in football.The winner of the competition will go home with N5million and all-expense trip to Dubai, while the first runners-up, second runners-up and the fourth placed team will go home with N3million, N2million  and N1million respectively, as well as all-expense paids trip to South Africa and the Gambia.
