She epitomised Awolowo - Mimiko

Published by Tribune on Tue, 12 Apr 2011

Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on Monday, commiserated with the family of Chief Obafemi Awolowo over the death of one of his children, Otunba Ayodele Olubusola Soyode, who died on Sunday.Governor Mimiko, who specifically condoled with the matriarch of the family, Yeye Hannah Idowu Dideolu (HID) Awolowo, over the sudden death of her daughter, regretted Soyodes death, saying that it was a very sad loss.In a release issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kolawole Olabisi, Mimiko stated that we received with sadness the sudden death of our sister and mother, Otunba Ayodele Olubusola Soyode, the daughter of our father, role-model, pathfinder and lawyer of uncommon hue, Pa Obafemi Awolowo. She was a dedicated lawyer who held forth first as a partner and later principal partner in her late fathers legal firm, Obafemi Awolowo and Co., thus ensuring that the legacies of our darling Pa Awolowo lived on.Her death is, indeed, a great shock to us and we can only pray that God, the only comforter, will comfort the entire Awolowos family and give Yeye HID Awolowo the courage and fortitude to bear the loss of her dear daughter. On behalf of the good people of Ondo State, I want to also condole with the deceaseds husband, Chief Tayo Soyode and her three children, Mrs Dolapo Osibajo, Mr Ladipo Soyode and Dr Femi Soyode, over the loss. May God grant you all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and console you. Please accept our condolence and sympathy.
