PDP may zone Deputy National chair to women

Ahead of the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party slated for 24th of this month, the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party are considering zoning the office of the Deputy National Chairman to women, a source disclosed to Nigerian Compass On Sunday. Since the inception of the party, women had only occupied the office of National Women Leader as a member of the working Committee. This constitutional provision in the party, the source said, needed to be improved upon, hence the consideration for two or more women in the twelve- member National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.
