Business community endorses Jonathan for president

THE Nigerian business community has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathans bid for election for a further four-year tenure.Those who threw their weight behind him, on Tuesday, at a breakfast  meeting at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, were businessmen and women in the manufacturing, banking, telecommunications and oil and gas sectors of the economy.According to chairman of the group, Dr Oba Otudeko, President Jonathan fits into the current generation of younger, dynamic and more vibrant group of leaders globally accepted and described him as the transformational pilot the nation needs at this time in our history.He said the group endorsed President Jonathan because Nigeria needed a decisive game-change from the older generation to a succeeding generation with the latter observing and advising, in the collective efforts at transforming the country.The business mogul, who described Jonathan as a humble man, a teacher, good listener, principled leader, patriot as well as God-fearing, also commended him for the display of unparalleled genuine commitment and sense of purpose to meeting the aspirations of Nigerians.Dr Otudeko praised President Jonathans efforts so far and called for targeted attention at three critical areas: electricity, education and employment.In his remarks, President Jonathan said his government was keen to ensure a vibrant economy, stating that no meaningful growth or development could take place without a vibrant and robust economic plan.
