Louis Delmas Injury: Updates on Dolphins Safety's ACL and Recovery

The Miami Dolphins secondary took a huge hit Wednesday, as starting safety Louis Delmas suffered a serious knee injury that will likely end his 2015 season before it started.Continue for updates.Delmas Reportedly Tore ACLWednesday, August 19NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported that Delmas tore the ACL in his right knee. Pro Football Talk also reported the same injury for the 28-year-old.The injury came during a joint practice between the Dolphins and Carolina Panthers, with Jonathan Jones of theCharlotte Observernoting it was a non-contact injury to the same knee in which Delmas tore his ACL last year.Delmas started 12 games for the Dolphins last season, his first with the team, tearing his ACL in a December loss against Baltimore. He had one interception and one sack before getting hurt.Even though a torn ACL doesn't carry the same weight it once did because many players return from the injury, Delmas' case suddenly looks more bleak because it's happened multiple times to the same knee in a short amount of time.The Dolphins do have depth on the defensive line to pressure the quarterback, but losing Delmas again takes a huge toll on a secondary that allowed 27 touchdown passes last year.
