Keshi targets Sidney Sam for Eagles

GERMAN-born Nigerian footballer, Sidney Sam will again be considered to feature for Super Eagles.Stephen Keshi has said he plans to visit Sam in Germany to convince him to choose Nigeria ahead of Germany.Former Eagles handler, Samson Siasia first monitored the Bayern Leverkusen left winger, and even made plans for Sam to visit Nigeria during the high-profile friendly against Argentina last June.However, nothing came out of this arrangement by Siasia.Keshi has now disclosed he wants the highly-rated winger to feature for his team in 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Namibia and Malawi in June.'I will try to go to Germany to convince him on the need to play for his fatherland,' said Keshi.'He's a good player and we need him for the Malawi and Namibia matches.'The 24-year-old Sam has already represented Germany at various youth levels.Nigeria will begin their quest to play at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil on June 2 at home to Namibia and a week later they will be guest of Malawi in Blantyre for the same qualifying series.The two time African champions will also host Rwanda in a return leg match of the qualifying rounds for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
