Police, OPC bicker over death of group's leader in Ondo

THE police at Enuowa Division in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State, and members of the Oodua Peoples' Congress ( OPC) from the coucil have maintained different positions on what led to the death of a leader of the organisation, Alfa Kamalideen Akewusola, who was allegedly killed on Saturday night in the town.While members of the organisation attributed the death to a shot fired at him by the police, the police on the other hand refuted the allegation, saying it was premeditated.The late Akewusola, who until his death was said to be the Acting Grand Commandant of the OPC in Ondo State, met his untimely death at Ayeyemi Street in Ondo town shortly after he returned from Lagos where he led a delegation of members of the organisation from the council to attend the one-year memorial service organised for one of the leaders of the OPC, popularly called Alhaji Badmos (a.k.a Kosija) said to be the Vice- Chairman of the group.
