Transporters advocate unity among members

A call has gone out to transporters to embrace peace and work together as a team to ensure that people's negative perception was erased and the union can move forward and garner respect like all other trade unions.Making the call in Lagos, on Tuesday, was an elder in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Oshodi branch, Mr Segun Atanda, who implored members of the association all over the state to rally round the newly-appointed caretaker committee chairman, Mr Tajudeen Agbede, so that they would take the union to the next level in terms of development.He noted that the time had come for Lagos NURTW to bury their hatchets and work as a team in order not to give room for money bags and politicians to take over the affairs of the union because, according to him, the newly-appointed committee members were professional drivers who knew their onions.
