Kogi gov's wife promises to focus on youths, women empowerment

The wife of Kogi State governor, Hajia Halima Wada, has said that her pet project, when eventually inaugurated, would focus on women and youth empowerment.She said this would be done through advocacy, capacity building and employment and called on women to be supportive of the present administration in the state to enable it achieve its objectives.The governor's wife also called on the youth to engage in meaningful ventures and shun violence, believing that progress and development could only be attained when there was peace.She also reaffirmed her commitment to the struggle for the attainment of 35 per cent affirmative position for women in the state.According to her, she had been canvassing with the appropriate government authorities on giving 35 per cent of the political appointments to the women, revealing that government was receptive to the idea.
