FOMWAN , CWAON collaborate on Muslim-Christian ties

Muslim women under the auspices of Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) are collaborating with their Christian counterparts under the auspices of Catholic Women Association of Nigeria (CWAON) on the peaceful co-existence between Christians and Muslims in the country.The Leader of FOMWAN, Hajia Maryam Idris Othman who disclosed this at Akure, the Ondo State capital during the enlightment programme for Muslim women in the country said this was necessary in order to tackle the Boko Haram menace that is ravaging parts of the North.According to her, both FOMWAN and Catholic Women have established working relationship and developed initiatives in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Oyo, Plateau and Kaduna states where they have been propagating peace among various ethnic and religious groups.
