Creatively making beauties

FOLASHADE is the CEO of ShadeCrown Concept, a beauty outfit in Lagos, and ShadeCrown Inc, UK. The Information and Communications Technology graduate of Birmingham City University, United Kingdom, attended London School of Beauty and Make-up where she honed her skills.After the programme, she opened shop and ever since, has provided make over consultancy and other sundry works for clients.Her clients''They cut across all walks of life,' she says.She was inspired to go into makeovers because of her passion for make-ups. Folashade says she never considered taking it up as a career until after her university education. 'Though it took me a while to realise where I was going; the passion grew as I grew older.'With product such as Chanel, YSL, Mac, Iman, Revlon, L'Oreal, BM Pro, Maybelline and Tara as her favourite, Folashade tries to work wonders with her fingers.What makes her work outstanding, she replies, 'creativity.' Folashade adds, 'I like being creative with colours.'The beautician says, 'ShadeCrown is coined from my name 'Shade' and the first three letters of my maiden name 'Ade', which means crown in English language.'HER role models in the industry are Sam Fine and Banke Meshida for their beautiful works. The challenges of business are not different from others, she, however, says, 'working to be on top and keeping abreast of the new products and technology; is a major issue.'Tips on a good make over' She smiles, 'use oil mortifiers and oil free moisturiser before applying foundation. A good mortifier absorbs oil and helps control shine for at least eight hours. After applying foundation, use blotting paper to remove excess oil. Apply lipstick sealer over lipstick to prevent it from smudging and to make it last longer.
