Senator to Northern governors: 13% derivation must stay

As the controversy over the revenue sharing formula rages, Senator Ita Enang (Akwa Ibom, PDP) has kicked against the removal of 13 per cent derivation being championed by Northern governors. He said that the derivation must stay in the interest of peace needed in the Niger Delta for oil exploration. The Senator, who stated this while receiving citizens of his state currently at the Nigerian Law School wondered why the North has been reluctant to explore the oil found in the region.
