Who loves Madden 16' It seems just about everyone who has reviewed the game does, as it earned aMetacritic score of 83. That tiesMadden 16as the eighth-highest rated PlayStation 4 game the website lists as "active."I scored it as an 8.4. Here's a breakdown of seven of the reviews Metacritic used to come up with its conglomerate score:Madden 16 Review RoundupPublicationAuthorScorePlayStation LifestyleLouis Edwards9.00PolygonOwen S. OS always takes more time to release its reviews, and because it's a respected entity in the sports video game universe, the hardcore fans still take notice.Operation Sports' review is consistent with those of the other industry experts. Chris Sannerdid the honors for OS, and he scored the game as an 8.0.Like most reviewers, Sanner lauded the gameplay, but he was less enthused about the Draft Champions mode, which is the only new mode this year's game offers. Here's what Sanner wrote:The mode itself is a fun little sideshow, as you will quickly go through a draft and get a team together to then go face the world in a gauntlet style setup. I personally found the drafting to be fun, and the mode was fun the first couple of times throughbut Im not fully convinced its something many people are going to play dozens of times. In this area, Sanner and I differ in our opinions about Madden 16. I'd call DC more than a "fun little sideshow." Per EASports.com, here's a brief description of the mode:No need to prepare for this draft. After selecting one of three coaches, youre shown three players to choose from in each round. Pick your favorite players, your hometown team, a position you need, or just go with the numbers. Any of these players will improve your starter team. It's an addictive mode that I see more as an alternative to the Madden Ultimate Team mode than something I'd get bored with quickly. The drafting is fun, and the ability to go head-to-head against other gamers with your team is what MUT offersjust without the nudge to spend money to build a great team.In any case, here are a couple of tips on how to excel in the mode.Know Your SchemeYou'll have to select a coach during the first round of the draft in Draft Champions. Don't blow this off. You're picking your playbook and scheme with this selection. Take note of the schemes your coach implements on offense and defense. In the rounds that follow, make a concerted effort to draft only players who fit the system. Deviating from this strategy can result in a team that underachieves.Don't Overvalue the QuarterbackThe NFL is a quarterback-driven league, but Draft Champions is a wide receiver- and cornerback-driven mode.Does it help to have Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady' Yes, but you can win more easily with Mark Sanchez throwing to Dez Bryant than you would with Rodgers passing to Marquess Wilson.Top-notch corners are also among the biggest assets to have, as they help shut down pass-happy offenses online.Follow Brian Mazique on Twitter.
