A surprise package awaits Kallon in Warri, says Coorman

Published by Guardian on Tue, 27 Mar 2012

AFTER guiding his team to a 0-0 draw in Freetown, Sierra Leone, in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup over the weekend, coach of Warri Wolves, Maurice Cooreman, has said his side would hand a 'surprise package' to the Sierra Leoneans when they visit Warri for the return leg.Wolves defied an intimidating home support led by Sierra Leone's President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, to grab a point in the game played at the National Stadium in Freetown. An excited Cooreman said yesterday that he was happy with the 0-0 draw recorded away but that his boys did not play good football as he had expected of them. He said: 'My game plan was to go to Freetown and get a draw and I am happy we did just that.'Based on the information I got before we travelled to Freetown, I decided to use Uche Ossai to do the dirty job of marking out Mohammed Kallon. I was told that officials of FC Kallon were going to build their game around him (Mohammed Kallon). The information was very correct.'According to Wolves' Media Officer, Timi Ebikagboro, the match was highly explosive with the Sierra Leonean legend, Mohammed Kallon, launching many attacks on Wolves' defence. He added: 'But thank God our defence line of Azubuike Egwuekwe, ThankGod Ike, Mibe Ojo and captain Goodluck Onomado were up to the task and able to put Kallon at bay.
