Why I fielded Torres against Man Utd - Ancelotti

CHELSEA boss, CARLO Ancelotti, defended his decision to start Fernando Torres against Manchester United despite replacing him at half-time.Chelseas £50million signing, who has now failed to score in 11 games, came off for Didier Drogba in the 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.United boss, Alex Ferguson believes the price tag meant Ancelotti had to start him.Ferguson said: I thought that, having signed Torres for the money they did, they had to play him.I wasnt 100 per cent sure but I couldnt see how they could leave Torres out.Everyone said at the time it was a fantastic piece of business. You cant criticise him for that. Hes a good signing. Its not working at the moment, but hes a young man with other seasons ahead.Torres has played against us quite a few times and had a little golden spell against us, but if you look at the number of games hes played against us, weve actually done all right against him.
