Panic in Alimosho overnon-release of election results

Air of uncertainty has enveloped the entire Alimosho local government area of Lagos State following the non-release of the result of last Saturdays Federal House of Representatives election results.The development, which has created tension amongst residents in the area, has heated up politics in the entire local government.The election, which was contested by all the major political parties, saw the supporters of aspirants of the Action Congress of Nigeria (CAN) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates fighting a cold war as to who won the election.When Community News went round many areas of the local government, there was palpable fear amongst residents over what might happen.Some of those spoken to alleged that INEC might cancel the election and organize a fresh one to give the contestants fresh chance.Prior to the last Saturday election, the residents in the local government had embarked on enlightenment campaign as to why residents should only vote for politicians who will fulfill their electoral promises.Those who spoke to the Community News appealed to those who would be elected to use their political offices to help develop the local government which they said lacked good roads.
