A member of the National Youth Service Corps in Ogun State has donated two functional bore-holes to Ilewo-Orile community, a suburb of Abeokuta in Abeokuta North Local Government.Godwin Agbowo,  at the handing over, commended the community for their cooperation during his service year in the area and for support given to him.I give glory to God and the people who made it possible for me to complete this project; I was inspired to leave a lasting legacy in this community right from the first day I stepped in here.I noticed that there was no portable water to drink and for other domestic usage. So, I embarked on this project with my personal money and to the glory of God I was able to complete it.I must give thanks to all those who supported me financially and otherwise in the course. In all, I spent about N750, 000 on the projects, but I was able to get about N350, 000 from good-spirited individuals.Mrs Aikpkokpo Oghogho , the representative on the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), who witnessed the handing over of the projects, praised the efforts of the corps member andchallenged others to emulate him.We are very proud of this boy; he has demonstrated the spirit of a true Nigerian. We hope to see more like him in the nearest future, she saidAbideyi Samson, a member of the community said that, we thank God for this corps member, before now, our only source of water was the stream, but with this projects, we now have portable water, the boy is God-sent.Also speaking, Mr Adegboyega Orangun, Head, Community Development Services (CDS) of National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Ogun, said that it was highly commendable for a corps member to initiate a project and complete it.It is indeed laudable, we appreciate Godwin for his vision, we pray God rewards him abundantly, he remarked.Orangun, who advised other corps members to emulate Godwin, also charged them to look inwards and initiate projects that could benefit their (Corps members) host communities in order to leave a lasting legacy behind after their service years.
