Shell Cup bronze medallist commends Education Ministry

THE 2011 NNPC/Shell Cup second runner-up, Ondo State Brilliant International College, Akure, has showered praises on the state Ministry of Education for the financial and moral support it received from the ministry as the Ondo State representative in this years edition of the competition.Brilliant International College lost to its Imo State counterpart in the finals played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos two weeks ago. The team had defeated Ikare City College 3-0 to qualify from the South-West Zone.Proprietor of the school, Dr. Oyinloye Emmanuel Adeyinka, said during the week that he was full of thanks for the ministry for the support given to his school team, which, according to him, propelled the college to the final of the NNPC Shell Cup competition. He added that the feat recorded by his lads had never been achieved by any school in Ondo State.He further commended the personal effort of the Ministrys Permanent Secretary, Pius Osunyikanmi, and others such as Kolawole Taiwo, Princes Olagbegi Olateru Bimbo and Jide Fawolu, saying that they should continue to support school sports.The school, by virtue of its second placing, has qualified to represent Nigeria at Manchester this year at the World Secondary Schools Football Championship. Brilliant International College was established in September 2002 as an offshoot of Brilliant Group of Schools, which has been in operation since September 5,1995.
