Fasanya House wins God Firstathletics meet

FASANYA House (Yellow) emerged the overall winner of this years ninth bi-ennial inter-house sports competition of God First Schools, Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos, which held at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Sports Centre in Akoka, Lagos.Yellow won 14 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals to lift the overall trophy. School House (Green) came second while Adebanjo House (Blue) came third. The event was well attended by proprietors and proprietresses of schools, parents and other dignitaries, including the Chief Patron of the schools Mothers Care Group, G.S. Obasuyi, who was also a special guest of honour at the occasion.While presenting the trophies to the winning houses, Obasuyi lauded the school for organising the competition, saying that it would build up the physique and mental alertness of the pupils. In his remark, the Games Master, Julius Opara, said the competition was an opportunity to discover new talents in sports and complement the state governments desire to develop grassroots sports.He, therefore, advised parents to embrace sports generally as extra-curricular in the schools timetable. Meanwhile, the parents showed their appreciation of sports by participating in good numbers in the parents race.
