Oni warns ACN govs against arrest of PDP members

The national vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-West, Chief Segun Oni, has warned the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governors in the zone to stop indiscriminate arrest of PDP members or face the consequences.The national vice chairman of the party said that the ACN government in the South- West was interim, and that the PDP would soon reclaim those states it lost to it.The PDP boss gave the warning in Osogbo, on Thursday, while addressing PDP leaders in the state during his South-West state familiarisation tour to sensitise members of the party on the need to reclaim its lost glory in the zone.According to Oni, reports reaching the leadership of the party in the zone had shown that many PDP members had been hounded into prison by the ACN governments in the zone on charges.'The indiscriminate arrest of our members in the South-West by the ACN government for not committing any offence should stop immediately. If the ACN government wants to make the zone ungovernable, we will assist them to make it so.'We will not accept any treatment that makes our members second class citizen in their own country. We will continue to fight for our rights and ensure that justice is done at all times as enshrined in the constitution of the country,' he said.He explained that in other to ensure that PDP members do not suffer any form of maltreatment in the hands of the ACN members, the PDP would set up a legal department and a legal committee that would take up any legal matter that involved any of the party members.
